Sunday, 31 December 2006 Day 186 New Year's Eve It's the last day of the first calendar year of my life. A time for reflection and a time to count the many blessings in my life. There's Mommy and Daddy, Grandma Del and Grandma Edie, Wilson and Bailey, and all my friends and family. Thank you for giving me your love. I love you all very much. Today we went hiking up to the Montecito hot spings with Grandma Del's friend Maxie and her daughter Whitney. It was a lot of fun.
When we got back, Uncle Harold and Aunt Mary Lou were here visitng Grandma Del. Uncle Harold is Grandma's uncle.
Then we stayed up to celebrate the New Year. I fell asleep pretty early, but I woke up in time to catch Anderson Cooper and the ball dropping in Times Square back in New York City! How fun!
I fell asleep again before the clock struck midnight on the west coast. But hey, what do you expect? I've had a pretty eventful year. I need my beauty rest. Happy New Year everyone!

Mommy and Daddy and I were there for support....
Grandma got to wear cool booties during her surgery.
She was very cheerful going into the operation...
...probably because her doctor was so nice and really funny, too.

...Grandma's friend Mary Beth was there too.
Friday, 29 December 2006 Day 184 Today Grandma Delfina had her surgery to remove the tumor from her breast. The doctor was very good, and the surgery went really well. Grandma will have to relax for a while so she can get better. Mommy and Daddy and I will help her out and take care of her. I'm just glad she's O.K. I think I'll just give her lots of love. maybe that will help her feel better fastest. P.S. I'm six months old today... hip, hip hooray!
At first I was a little worried for Grandma, but Mommy said everything would be OK.
Mary Beth introduced me to my new friend... we named her Emma after my friend Emma in New York, whom I miss very much. |

Sunday, 24 December 2006 Day 179 Christmas Eve It's the night before Christmas and all through the house... |

Wednesday, 20 December 2006 Day 175 It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas... Actually it's not. This is the warmest December in over 100 years. I guess Al Gore was right abou tall that greenhouse stuff. Nevertheless, the warm winter weather isn't keeping us from getting ready for the holiday. Auntie Roz got me a reindeer costume, and Grandma Del sent me a great Christmas outfit. Mommy has rounded out my cold weather wardrobe with a pink snowsuit that's to die for. I'm the envy of the neighborhood. |

Thursday, 14 December 2006 Day 169 Daddy's cousin Joe and his wife Celine came to visit us today all the way from Los Angeles, California. They don't get much snow and cold weather in California, so they came to New York to try to find some. Unfortunately global warming has foiled their plans for a "White Christmas." I wonder if I'll get to see any snow for my first Christmas? I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Saturday, 2 December 2006 Day 157 Every year Mommy and Daddy throw a big party the weekend after Thanksgiving to celebrate Christmas and the holiday season with all their friends. This year they let me invite all my baby friends as well. It was so much fun! Normally the party is a late night affair, but because of the kinder-friendly theme this year, we had the soiree in the afternoon. The gift exchange went down in line with tradition, and as usual (or so I've been told), the party was a blowout! My friends Grace, Emma, Paul, Margaret, Oliver, Lola, Timothy, Nathaniel, Major and lots of grown-ups were in attendance. Everyone loved my room. It's so cozy. And guess what... who do you think outlasted all the other guests? The Inwood Baby Mafia, that's who! Happy Holidays everyone! |
